Tote Board Scholars

To date, 42 scholars across the social service, health, community, arts and sports sectors have attended courses in various top universities. 

Launch: Inaugural Scholars

2 scholars were selected, Mrs June Tham from the Rainbow Centre and Dr Ramaswamy Akhileswaran from HCA Hospice Care. They attended Harvard University’s Strategic Perspectives for Non-profit Management (SPNM) Programme.

 

2008

2 scholars were selected, Mr Alfred Tan from the Singapore Children's Society and Mrs Eunice Tay from the National Kidney Foundation. They attended Stanford University’s Executive Programme for Non-profit Leaders Programme (EPN). 

2009

3 scholars were selected, Mr James Wong from Spastic Children's Association of Singapore, Mr S.Vivakanandan from Ang Mo Kio -Thye Hua Kwan Hospital and Mr Tim Oei from Asian Women's Welfare Association. They attended Harvard University's SPNM programme.

2010

5 scholars were selected, Ms Sue Cheng from the Singapore Children's Society, Mr Terence Ho from the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Ms Ng Ling Ling from the National Council of Social Service, Mr Abhimanyau Pal from the Society for the Physically Disabled, and Ms Morene Sim from SHINE Children and Youth Services. Ms Cheng attended Georgetown’s Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate (NMEC) Programme, Mr Ho and Ms Ng attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme, and Mr Pal attended Duke’s Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership (ECN) Programme.

2011

3 scholars were selected; Mdm Lim Sia Hoe from the NTUC Eldercare, Mr Chng Kai Jin from Singapore Symphonia Co. Ltd and Ms Carol Pereira from the National Council of Social Service. Mdm Lim and Mr Chng attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme while Ms Pereira attended Duke’s ECN Programme.

2012

4 candidates were selected. Dr Roland Yeow from Boys’ Town, Mr Lim Tanguy from Law Society, Pro Bono Services, Ms Tan Li Li from Singapore Children’s Society, and Ms Felicia Wee from Metta Welfare Association. Dr Roland Yeow attended Georgetown’s NMEC Programme, Mr Lim Tanguy attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme. Ms Tan Li Li and Ms Felicia Wee attended Duke’s ECN Programme.

2013

4 candidates were selected. Ms Margaret Thevarakom from Singapore International Foundation, Ms Loh Shu Chin from Ren Ci Hospital, Mr Tan Wearn Haw from Singapore Sailing Federation and Ms Agnes Chia from Care Corner Family Service Centre. Ms Margaret Thevarakom and Ms Loh Shu Chin attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme. Mr Tan Wearn Haw and Ms Agnes Chia attended Duke’s ECN Programme.

2014

4 candidates were selected. Ms Grace Lee from Care Corner Family Service Centre (Toa Payoh), Dr Caroline Balhetchet from Singapore Children’s Society, Ms Soh Swee Ping from Council for Third and Dr K Thomas Abraham from SATA CommHealth. Ms Grace Lee and Dr Caroline Balhetchet attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme. Ms Soh Swee Ping attended Stanford University’s EPN Programme and Dr K Thomas Abraham attended Duke’s ECN Programme.

2015

5 scholars were selected. Mr Chia Boon Khiang from Singapore Children’s Society, Ms Jo Lim Meng Fong from The Theatre Practice, Mr Daniel Chien from Care Corner Singapore Ltd, Mr Mervyn Foo from Singapore Bowling Federation and Ms Iris Lin from Fei Yue Community Services. Mr Chia Boon Khiang attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme. Ms Jo Lim Meng attended Duke’s ECN Programme. Mr Daniel Chien attended the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) at University of Washington, while Mr Mervyn Foo and Ms Iris Lin Services attended the Developing Leaders Programme for Nonprofit Professionals (DLP) at Columbia University.

2016

3 scholars were selected. Mr Anson Quek from Food from the Heart, Ms Winifred Loh from Centre for Non-Profit Leadership, National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, and Ms Rachel Tan from Singapore Children's Society. Mr Anson Quek from Food from the Heart and Ms Winifred Loh attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme, while Ms Rachel Tan attended Stanford University’s EPN Programme.

2017

3 candidates were selected. Ms Choo Shiu Ling from Assisi Hospice, Mr James Tan from Touch Community Services and Ms Wu Mei Ling from SHINE Children and Youth Services. Ms Choo Shiu Ling attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme, Mr James Tan attended Stanford University’s EPN Programme while Ms Wu Mei Ling attended Duke’s ECN Programme.

2018

4 scholars were selected. Mr Tan Sze Wee from Rainbow Centre, Mr Edwin Ker from Singapore Swimming Association, Ms Teo Bee Lan from Singapore Chinese Orchestra and Ms Ang Boon Min from Singapore Children`s Society. Mr Tan Sze Wee attended Columbia University`s DLP programme. Mr Edwin Ker and Ms Ang Boon Min attended Harvard’s SPNM Programme, Ms Teo Bee Lan attended Stanford University’s EPN.
