Singapore Sports Awards 2015

The Tote Board family attended the Singapore Sports Awards 2015 on the evening of 5 August!

The Awards dinner, held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel, saw members of the sporting fraternity coming together to celebrate and recognize the achievements of our athletes. Organised by the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and Sport Singapore (SportSG), and supported by Tote Board, the Singapore Sports Awards 2015 honour the most deserving individuals and teams in sports for the year 2014.

It was truly an night of glitz and glamour as Team Singapore turned up in their finest to celebrate and for some, crown their achievements for the past year with an award. As the main sponsor for the ceremony and the cash component of the awards, staff of Tote Board family including Tote Board Chief Executive Fong Yong Kian attended the event to show our support to local sports.

Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, graced the event as Guest of Honour. Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Communications and Information also attended the event. Tote Board Chief Executive Fong Yong Kian joined the two Ministers on stage to present awards to deserving winners.

In the highlights of the evening, the Sportswoman of the Year award went to sports shooter Jasmine Ser, while the Sportsman of the Year award went to swimmer Joseph Schooling. Unfortunately, both could not be present to receive the awards in person as they were competing overseas. Instead, a representative from the Singapore Shooting Association received the award on behalf of Jasmine while Schooling's mother beamed proudly as she received her son's trophy.
