237,116 dollars raised to benefit children with special needs

The third instalment of the Longines Singapore Gold Cup 2012 raised a total of $237,116 for the Chaoyang School through a charity luncheon on 11 November 2012.

A charity auction was held showcasing six art pieces done by the students of Chaoyang School, a painting by Mr Ong Kim Seng, a timepiece from The Longines Saint-Imier Collection, and a stunning hat donned by Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Ms Aishwarya Rai Bachchan herself at the 2011 Prix de Diane Longines to raise funds, together with table sales, and outright donations. The guest-of-honour, Chairman of Tote Board, Mr Bobby Chin, and Chief Executive of Tote Board, Mr Tan Soo Nan, were present to receive a token of appreciation from Community Chest, at the charity luncheon which raised a total of S$237,116.

The Singapore Gold Cup Day is traditionally designated as an annual Charity Race Day. For the third year running, Longines is presenting this year’s Singapore Gold Cup, raising funds for Chaoyang School - one of the social services programmes supported by Community Chest. The school has been providing education to children with special needs for the past 30 years.

Tote Board and Singapore Pools provide support in Community Chest’s fund-raising and other operating costs so that every dollar raised by Community Chest will be made available to social service programmes under its care.
