President’s Challenge 2012

More than $6.22 million was raised at the President’s Star Charity 2012, which will go a long way towards improving the lives of 55 beneficiaries supported by President’s Challenge 2012. The President’s Star Charity 2012, held at Caldecott Broadcast Centre on 14 October, is a charity extravaganza featuring a host of popular local and overseas artistes and performers putting up dance and musical performances for a good cause.

Started in 2000, the President’s Challenge is an annual series of community-based activities which aims to increase awareness about how the community can get involved in helping the less fortunate and to raise funds for the social service sector. Tote Board and Singapore Pools have been actively supporting the President’s Challenge since its inception, whose sponsorships have made it possible for every dollar donated to go directly to the beneficiaries.

This year, Tote Board and Singapore Pools donated $1.545 million to the President’s Challenge through a cheque presented to Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam, from Mr Tan Soo Nan, Chief Executive of Tote Board and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Pools, at the ‘live’ President’s Star Charity show.
